A native Californian, Mark Fenton was born in West Los Angeles and lived near Fox Studios where he was surrounded by the talents of the movie industry. His parents were both Hollywood icons, one a successful screenwriter and the other an accomplished dancer. Schooled locally at Santa Monica college, much of his early art training was self-directed, as he apprenticed himself to numerous fine artists. He joined the Los Angeles Art Association, the Beverly Hill Art League and co-founded the Allied Professional Artists League in 1979. In 1976, Fenton began his career In scenic art. He joined the Hollywood union and worked for major film studios and television networks on prestigious award shows such as the Academy Awards and the Grammy's. Mark Fenton is a member of the California Art Club and a 40 year member of Local 800, Art Director's Guild.
