Bridget Duffy

 

I am a local South Bay working artist for over 40 years, having grown up in Hawthorne receiving my AA Degree in Art from El Camino JC, acquiring my BA in Fine Art from UCLA in 1975, and always pursuing an art career, knowing I was destined to be an artist/painter ever since I can remember. I was so fortunate to get jobs painting and doing custom art for hotels, restaurant chains, and casinos right out of school, then I happened upon the entertainment artist's union of Hollywood, joining the Scenic Art Guild in the early 80's opening me up to a world of enthralling art for sets, backdrops, props and theme painting for TV Theater, Film, Theme Parks, Awards Shows, and Commercials. Then once skilled at monumental art, I began a mural business including huge commissions for zoos, hospitals international airports, hotels, restaurants,and the like. I always loved oil painting so joined California art Club which inspired me to pursue plein air painting and exhibiting in shows and galleries, and enriching my knowledge by taking workshops and private classes from Master painters such as Theodore Lukits, and Steve Huston. The beauty of nature inspires me as I try and capture the fragility and elegance of this precious world we live in, capturing it in oil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic.
